The DEVA brand has been a part of Slovak families for more than 70 years, and its history reaches deep into the tradition of honest confectionery production.
Start of production
1949 – 1955
1949 - production of baking powder and pudding powder in the LIPKA powder factory
1950 - start of construction of the confectionery plant in Trebišov

In the first years, mainly non-chocolate candies and Christmas fondants were produced. However, the assortment quickly expanded to include chocolate candies and chocolate bars.
The first director of the plant was Vladimír Kudla, who was subsequently replaced by Bohumil Einbenberge.
Period of growth
1955 – 1980
From 1955, DEVA began to write its years of growth. Just a year later, it produced approximately 100 types of chocolate and non-chocolate products.
Among the iconic products were:

In 1980, the plant became the most successful confectionery
enterprise in the republic.
Tradition of festive collections
In the 80s, the production of the Christmas assortment began – the iconic DEVA Collection became a part of Christmas in almost every family.
Gradually added:
- Bon Ami with milk flavor
- Milk Furé
- Christmas fondants (salónky)

Export to the world
DEVA, as a branch plant of the state enterprise Čokoládovny Praha s.p., already found strong export markets outside the former Eastern Bloc in the past.
Products were exported to:
- Great Britain
- Canada
- Singapore
- Saudi Arabia
- Kuwait
- Yemen
- Afghanistan
The brand thus became an internationally recognized chocolate manufacturer.
A new era for the brand
Today, DEVA is one of the steady and few manufacturers of chocolate products capable of covering the entire scope of the Slovak market.
Current production portfolio
DEVA today produces:
Many types of molded and dipped chocolate bars, a wide range of chocolate desserts, jellies, and seasonal Christmas and Easter products.
Approximately 50% of production is destined for export.
Brick-and-mortar stores
In 2015, the first brick-and-mortar store was opened in Košice.
Today, DEVA has 4 specialized stores across Slovakia, where customers can find a wider assortment than in common retail chains.
